After installation in the furnace the crucible should be heated up slowly to a temperature of 200ºC over a period of 2 hours. Afterwards, the crucible should be heated up to a temperature of 950ºC on full power if possible.
After first use, the temperature should be increased up to 950 ºC directly. If a crucible has not been used for a long time, the heating procedure should be followed as for the first installation.
The above recommendations refer to the use of new crucibles in existing furnaces. If a new crucible is to be installed in a new furnace, the heating and drying instructions of the furnace manufacturer should be observed.
