After installation in the furnace the crucible should be heated up slowly to a temperature of 200ºC over a period of 2 hours. Afterwards, the crucible should be heated up to 600ºC on low power, before the full heating rate is used to reach 950 ºC.
After first use, the temperature should be increased up to 600 ºC within 2 hours. If a crucible has not been used for a long time, the heating procedure should be followed as for the first installation.
